Jay Leno Tries Out Somebody Else’s 1956 Maserati A6G-2000 Allemano

5:50 AM

While Jay Leno may have a ridiculously large collection of mostly classic vehicles, he occasionally has guests over at his shop and drives their cars. When this is the case, he usually shows off something very nice that you immediately begin to covet once you’ve laid eyes on it.

This could be the case for this week’s 1956 Maserati A6G-2000, a car fully restored from very poor shape at the request of and by its current owner Jonathan Segal.

He takes great pride in the fact that the car is as original as it could be, explaining to Jay which parts were trickiest to source, and what he and the team that worked on the car did to bring its back to its original state - it was named 'best in class' at the 2011 Pebble Beach venue.

The car is one of only 21 ever built by coachbuilder Allemano, and it was a heavier, more grand tourer-oriented kind of model, whereas the more desirable Zagatos of the day, were lighter and racier alternatives to this.
